Super Summer Random Picture Catch-Up

Well, this is finally it! The last batch of pictures before we're caught up to the present day. I'm so glad. Not only because I'm finally back on top with this particular area of my life (blogging, that is) but because this has given me so many opportunities to go through the precious sweet memories we've made over the past months. I'm so blessed that all of our happy times have family and friends involved; fellowship and community is such an important part of becoming a more loving person, and not only do Chelsea and I love being around these people, but I truly believe it's teaching my children to love others more fully. To want to be around them and give and get. It's been great. Captions included.

Waving at the train from Depot Street Brewery in Johnson City, with Andy and Jack.

The clones, cuddling.

This is the closest we could get to a nice smile from Jack during baseball season.

I've fallen asleep like this plenty of times.

Just having fun daddy time.

This is following like a two-hour bath.

Her bunny on a leash, with a jealous Doc in the foreground.

So proud of the mushroom she found!

We were up at...Roan Mountain I think? On a summer hike with friends.

On the shelf at Lowe's. I think they're overpriced.

Apparently they were both in the mood for a photo shoot! This all took about two minutes.

On Phil Ledford's boat, hanging out and catching fish! They liked it best when we "went fast" (about 25 mph).

She's got a bit to learn about mascara.

Celebrating Batman's 75th Anniversary at Barnes & Noble!

Helping Dad clean up at the end of school.

She uses this expression on an alarmingly frequent basis.

Sibs.

Chels likes this picture because it looks like the flower is actually her nose.

Cousins!

So proud. An eight-dollar suit; score.

They were both in the "Imagination Station" Book Parade!

This was one of the only snows in the early spring. They had fun.

The aforementioned friends on our hike! From left, Julia, Vivian, Jack, Lydia, and Cal. Their mom, Jen, was along, but was taking the picture.

You Say It's Your Birthday

It was this past March that we celebrated Jack's fourth birthday, as the spring equinox rolled around. So many things coalesced to make it a beautiful, fun, happy day. Family showed up. The weather cooperated. And the most important factor in my opinion was how much love and care Chelsea poured into the decorations and preparations. The house looked so special; as soon as Jack woke up, he was happy.
And so were we. This boy changed our lives so much for the better, so deeply. He's such a loving, affectionate, sweet boy, who alternates between really deep contemplation (for a four-year-old) and absolute boyhood and craziness. It was fun--this day was so all about him that even Julia just followed him around smiling. Even if she couldn't put it into words, it was easy to see that she loved her big brother.
Thank you, God, for Jack. He's taught us how to love, in a lot of ways. Four years seems like nothing, yet at the same time it's impossible to imagine life without him.
